We gathered our stuff and checked out of our guesthouse, then went straight to the beach on the bikes. We went to the same village beach as yesterday since we enjoyed it so much, and today there was hardly anyone there at all.
We ordered shrimp curry and a papaya salad from the same restaurant, only it came with more than the acceptable amount of hair. We told that to the restaurant employee and he apologized profusely and brought us another serving with more hair. That clearly did not work so he brought us spring rolls - with just a little bit of hair. We weren't charged for that dish or for the beer Guy ordered either. We swam in the sea and watched little crabs running on the sand.
There were two puppies hanging out on the beach, a black puppy and a white puppy. They seemed to belong to the restaurant family. We petted them and watched them digging holes in the sand to lie in to cool down. We read our books while soaking up the sea breeze. It was a really nice day, and I (Leia) proclaimed, "This is paradise."
We rode back to the homestay at about 1600, which was early enough to avoid the heaviest traffic on the road back, and we took a shower. We crossed the street to Cafe 41 to have some juice and a snack. They did not manage to finish cooking the snack before the minibus came to pick us up, so we paid them hastily and ran. The minibus took us just down the street, which seemed unnecessary, since we could have had our snack and walked there.
