Breakfast Quest & Flight to Jeju

We opened our day on a quest for breakfast. Breakfast with eggs is hard to come by so that was a challenge. One of the places we visited demanded we order one drink per person, which was ridiculous, since we ordered different food items for both of us on top of a coffee and that place didn't deserve our business. Another place had their heating set to blow hot air at the customer's faces which was also not what we wanted. The Eternal Sunshine cafe, which was quiet and nice and where we ended up getting a cappuccino and a plain salt bread, gave us a free cream-filled salt bread to try - which was too creamy for us to enjoy.

In the end we revisited our favorite upscale raw fish and mulhoe restaurant for breakfast, and the waiter was excited to learn we came back and asked for a selfie with us. We went across the street for mini cookies from a bakery we liked.

We flew to Jeju in an exit row that didn't recline yet had a lot of legroom. The domestic terminal was tiny and we made it to our gate in time without trying to leave buffer and with Leia spending a lot of time in the bathroom. We had barely taken off before we started landing. We waited for the bus to take us to the hotel, as they only run about once an hour.

Near our hotel we found a Jeju black beef restaurant that people end up at while confused and looking for black pork. It had delicious beef rib grilled meatballs - tteokgalbi. That food was really great. The ajumma working there gave us small tastings of jeju tangerine juice for dessert. The restaurant had many beef certificates on the walls: it is one of the Korean heritage breeds.

We continued walking and found a shaved ice and dessert place. We ordered a pear shake which was nice. The place we stopped by further on that street sold tiny walnut shaped cakes filled with chocolate cream or other fillings. We bought 4 (the smallest order) and ate them there. We poked our head into a live music bar that wasn’t open yet, and when we checked back a few days later was still closed with a few people in a private hangout (probably some kind of criminal front,) and ended up returning to our hotel to relax and plan what to do on Jeju island.
