We took another Peach flight back to Osaka. This flight also sucked. Again, Baby Airlines has their own terminal where they crowd all the passengers for all their flights waiting at one gate, on colorful little daycare-style cushions. Boarding didn't begin until after the scheduled takeoff time and they didn't announce or update anything.
In the train on the way to the Narita airport Guy had his 19kg backpack drop directly onto the back of his head, after we both agreed it's a bad idea to store it in the overhead compartment and he did it anyway. We were concerned he might have a concussion but didn't want to go to a hospital to get it checked. He was just in pain for a week or so.
Once in Osaka we stayed in J-Hoppers hostel there, which is a part of the hostel chain along with the one we stayed at in Kyoto. As expected the hostel demanded we take our shoes off at the entrance and we were on the 4th floor, no elevator. We used their machines to do our own laundry for fairly cheap. The hostel was located in Fukushima area, not far from Umeda. It's a small area of walking streets with bars and restaurants.
We went to find something to eat for dinner and after being very apologetically denied entry to a popular horse-meat restaurant because we had no reservation, we found a really good skewer teppanyaki restaurant literally across the street from the hostel. The staff was pretty young and accommodating and we ended up eating many things while joking with them. We also had a couple glasses of Choya umeshu each.
